Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar and 2019 Presidential aspirant, has poured encomium on the late Mallam Adamu Ciroma who died in Abuja on Thursday, 5th July 2018 at the ripe age of 84.
Atiku attributed his success in life to the early contacts and mentorship he received from the late Elder Statesman
In a statement by his media office in Abuja, the former Vice President said even Ciroma’s worst enemy could not argue against his selflessness, adding that Nigeria was in desperate need of such dedicated men in order to achieve progress.
“A lot of what I have turned out to be in life today was as a result of the early contacts and mentor-ship that I had with Adamu Ciroma, who graciously offered me vacation job in my formative years.
“Ciroma is an astute politician, bureaucrat, technocrat and banker who served the nation selflessly.
“His honesty and patriotism were among his greatest virtues, he left behind untainted public service record for which he would always be remembered.
“Distinguished public figures like Ciroma joined politics primarily motivated by the passion to serve rather than self-aggrandizement as has become the lot today with many elective public office holders,” he said.
