Super Eagle’s Abdullahi Shehu has been gifted with a four-bedroom bungalow by the Sokoto State Governor, His Excellency, Alhaji Aminu Tambuwal, as the Sokoto State born player pays the governor a courtesy visit at the government house in Sokoto.
Shehu who was a member of the Super Eagle World Cup Team to the ongoing Russia 2019, thanked the Governor for his contributions to sports development in the state and assured him of total support of youths to his administration.
While commending the Governor further for his efforts at developing the education sector in the state, the Super Eagle’s player announced his determination to execute a legacy project in collaboration with philanthropists in the state.
He also also informed the Governor of their plan to organize a charity football involving Super Eagles players in sokoto and called for Government support and assistance. Shehu went on to laud the state government efforts in tackling the menace of drugs abuse among youths in the state. The Governor was presented with a Jersey by the Super Eagles player.
It did not just end at the house gift, as according to a statement by Abdullahi Danko, the Media Aide to Governor Tambuwal, “the state Commissioner for Lands and Housing was also directed to identify a suitable land to be allocated for the construction of sports complex to be named after Abdullahi Shehu.”
He quoted the governor as saying “We are doing our bit to encourage youths to develop their skills and excel in life like Shehu.”
Tambuwal explained that Sokoto State was proud of him and assured him of the state government’s continuous support and encouragement.
